Bullying Policy

A stable secure learning environment is essential in order that students are educated to the highest possible standard.
Any form of bullying undermines the quality of education and may impose psychological damage. Heywood Community School disapproves of bullying and is actively engaged in counteracting such behaviour.

Procedure in Countering Bullying:

  • The Charter on Rights and Responsibilities is displayed in each classroom.
  • All students are made aware of the Charter.
  • Pastoral classes raise awareness of the deleterious effects of bullying.
  • Students are encouraged to report all cases of bullying.
  • All reports of bullying are investigated in consultation with the Class Tutor, Year Head, Deputy Principal and Principal.
  • All students are encouraged to develop a sense of self worth.
